Group Coaching

What is group coaching and how does it work?

Group writing coaching involves collaborative sessions where a small group of aspiring authors work together with a literary agent or bestselling author to receive feedback, guidance, and support in developing their writing skills and manuscripts. Participants share their work, receive constructive feedback, and engage in discussions to enhance their writing craft.

You can find more details on how it works here.

How do I know if group coaching is right for me?

Group coaching is ideal for writers seeking a collaborative and interactive environment. If you enjoy sharing and receiving feedback, gaining insights from industry professionals, and being part of a supportive writing community, then our group coaching program is likely a great fit for you. Whether you're a novice or experienced writer, the dynamic group setting provides valuable perspectives and collective growth opportunities.

If you prefer working one-on-one with a coach instead of in a group setting, check out our one-on-one coaching program.

If you do not want to receive feedback on your work-in-progress or aren't ready to make changes to your manuscript (sometimes big changes), our coaching program is not the right fit for you.

How long is the group coaching program, and what is the time commitment?

The coaching program typically spans a 7-week duration: 4 online coaching persons on Zoom, 2 sessions where feedback is provided in writing only, and 1 break week to let you catch your breath and catch up on your writing.

You can find more details on how it works here, including a sample calendar.

What types of feedback will I receive on my work?

Participants receive personalized feedback on their stories from the literary agent or successful authors leading the coaching program. This feedback encompasses elements such as plot development, character arcs, and marketability. The goal is to provide comprehensive guidance tailored to each participant's unique story and advising how to elevate the manuscript to industry standards.

Are there any prerequisites for joining the group coaching program?

While there are no prerequisites, participants are encouraged to have a work-in-progress (even if unfinished) or a clear idea for a manuscript. This ensures that the coaching program can be most effectively tailored to individual writing goals. Writers of various experience levels and genres are welcome to join, fostering a diverse and enriching learning environment.
